In order to measure student growth and progress, students participate in a variety of assessments throughout the school year. Below you will find information on the various assessments student in Salt Creek School District 48 participate in.

AIMSweb is based on direct, frequent and continuous student assessment to better support student learning and help develop strong academic skills. AIMSWeb is a screening tool and a tool to monitor student progress in Reading Fluency.

MAP is a computerized adaptive test, which helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth. The MAP test is a screening tool to monitor student progress in Reading and Math.

KIDS Assessment Grade K Data collection from the beginning of the school year until the 40th day of school – October 30, 2018 The KIDS assessment is based on 14 state readiness measures in the areas of math, language and literacy development, as well as social and emotional development and approaches to learning and the ability to regulate emotions and behaviors.

ACCESS Testing for ELL Students, Grades K-8 January 16th – February 26th Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing The ACCESS test is designed to assess student progress in achieving English language proficiency. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing are assessed. The purpose of the test is to gauge second language student learning relative to content standards.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness - Grades 3-8 March 4th – April 26th Swartz: 3/4 - 3/22 Albright: 3/4 - 3/22 The Illinois Assessment of Readiness is designed to measure students’ content knowledge and key skills of the Common Core State Standards. Students are assessed in English Language Arts and Math in grades 3-8 and Science in grades 5 and 8.

ISA (Illinois Science Assessment) - Grades 5 & 8 March 1st – April 30th Albright: 4/3 - 4/5 ISA is designed to measure students’ content knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students are assessed in Science in grades 5 and 8.

FitnessGram, Grades 3-8 Fall & Spring FitnessGram is a fitness assessment and reporting program for youth. Students are tested over a variety health-related physical fitness areas that assess aerobic capacity, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility.
